Yesteryear Collection

A logical follow up to the pre-war TA and TB model, the TC had a 4 cylinder 1250 cc engine with a four speed gear box. Bought by many US servicemen and shipped back to the United States, this little vehicle was responsible for the sports car boom in post war America.

The MG T model was built from 1936 to 1955 in Abingdon, Oxfordshire England. This model, the MG TC, was built from 1945 to 1950. The car was equipped with a 1.3 liter engine that delivered 54 HP. A total of 10,000 were built, many of which were shipped to America.

The (Y8-4) 1945 MG TC joined the range in 1978.

Livery for issues 1-6: (Transfer)
Racing number: Black '3' on white disc on both doors. It can also be found with the racing number omitted which is considered a negative variation and have not been given individual codings.

Variations/Rarities: It was initially painted a dark green body & chassis with a light brown roof and seats but it also appeared with bright red, dark pink or black seats. It had a chrome plated grille and headlights and usually finely cast 24 spoke chrome wire wheels. The bright red seated version can also be found with 12 spoke red or green plastic wheels.
All green MG's had the racing number 3 decal applied to the doors and all of the later issues had no decals.
The model was recoloured to bright red body & chassis with a light brown roof that can be found with black or bright red seats. One red version had a rust brown roof with black seats.
It was recoloured again to a darker red body & chassis with a brown roof and black or bright red seats. One darker red issue had a rust brown roof and black seats.
The model was then recoloured to blue body & chassis with a brown or rust brown roof and either black or brown seats.
Finally, the model was recoloured to a cream body and dark brown chassis with a brown, dark brown or rusty brown roof and either a pinky-brown, brown, dark brown or black seats. This issue also had whitewall tyres fitted to the 24 spoke chromed wire wheels.

There are no rare variations of the MG although issue 1 in dark green with tan seats is hard to find.

Many different coloured hoods and seats have been recorded; but beware, roof components are renowned for being switched on this model.
